Do you hate school with all your heart? Are you sick and tired of going there, but your parents won’t homeschool you no matter how much you beg and plead with them?
Well, while you’re legally forced to attend school, nobody can legally force you to pay attention in class or do all the work, can they? And while you can bring your own books and educate yourself during class time, there’s always a chance they’ll get confiscated.
What if you could just do all the stupid class work as quickly as possible, get it over with, and then spend the rest of the day doing whatever you want. You can, actually – you can do all the drudgery of school work in the comfort of your own home, in front of your computer.
You can finish high school online – it’s a reasonable alternative to homeschooling, although it’s still a normal public school education, but at least you can do it at your own pace and you don’t have to put up with all the annoying people at school either. It should also be easier to convince your parents to let you do it, because it’s all the same curriculum and you get the exact same diploma for finishing high school online.
They might worry that you’re not “socializing” enough, though, but that’s easy enough to argue against: just ask them to visit your regular high school and hand-pick at least 10 people that they think would do you some good to be “socializing” with. Odds are they probably won’t find any. Or they’ll be so appalled at what else they find there that they’ll gain a whole lot of respect for you for wanting to quit that hell-hole.
And who knows, maybe after you’ve been online schooling for a while, your parents might be more open to better solutions, like homeschooling or even unschooling. It’s worth a try, and even if they aren’t, you should have enough time to learn more valuable things with all the time you save by not having to attend classes every day.
