There is tons of information out there on how to overcome drug addiction. There is information out there on every kind of drug know to man and a long with it you can find ways to discontinue using them all. It does not matter if you are smoking heroin or are addicted to using prescription medications there are ways to get clean. That’s what I try to do is help as many people as I can to quit using drugs.
Now along with all the ways there are to stop there is also a profit to be made from the addiction treatment centers who capitalize on this market. There has been addiction since drugs were invented that could get you high. I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
If you have the desire to stop smoking heroin before it kills you. I would get some kind of help, be that heroin addiction treatment or simply quitting with a 12 step program. It does not matter what your drug of choice is only in what you want to do about your problem. If you are going to use something like Narcotics Anonymous to stay clean I would suggest that you go to 90 meetings in a row. I would also say to get a sponsor and start hanging out with other recovering addicts.
Your old friends and playgrounds have to go. This program does work but it takes just that to remain clean. NA is a huge program and it be found world wide for those of you who may not live in the U. S. I started going to NA around 1986. I did not stay clean too long that time but the thing is I never gave up and I am clean today. I thought I was the king of relapse for a while but that was just me being self conscious. Let me just say if this is your first or your 100 time trying to get clean never quit trying because one day you will make it.
