If you are looking for something easy and simple to transfer your old VHS tapes to DVD, then VHS2DVD Wizard is the package deal for you. It is as easy as 1 – 2 – 3. You (1) capture the video with the capture device that comes with the program, (2) edit the video if necessary, and then (3) burn the videos to DVD. That’s it. You are set.
The quality may not be as high as you would get from an expensive transfer service or a really expensive high end program that can transfer VHS to DVD but it definitely gets the job done so you can move on with life and get back to making more memories.
Here is what you need:
- A PC running Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
- 1-2 GB RAM (or 2-4 GB RAM with Windows Vista or Windows 7)
- USB 2.0 port
- 5 or more GB of free disk space
- DVD Burner
- Video tape player (or video camera)
*Note: This program will unfortunately not run with a Mac.
There are numerous customer recommendations for VHS2DVD on the web site and you can see that a variety of people were able to use this program, despite their level of experience, age, etc. In fact, customer service seems to be one of the things that VHS2DVD does best. They are rated a “B” on the Better Business Bureau website. The website is so user friendly, in fact, there are links to other sites if you need to purchase a VCR or DVD burner.
*Note: The link to searching for the EMW404 VCR they recommended finding on eBay showed me that recent completed sales for this model went from $30 to $100 (including shipping). Although the link to New Egg’s web site for the DVD burner model they recommended was out of stock, I was able to use the link to find another external Samsung DVD Burner on the new Egg site for under $40.
The cost for the VHS2DVD Wizard is only $59.95 and all orders are processed through PayPal so you know it is safe to exchange money with this company over the internet. So, if you are going to convert VHS to DVD, now is the time – and the price is right. Good luck!
